Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to payments made to the International Journal of Sustainability and ESG (IJSE), published by Persatuan Inkubator Usahawan (PIU), through this website. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions of Sale.

1. Digital products

Journal issues, research papers, research reports and other digital products are delivered electronically and cannot be returned. All sales of digital products are final once the download link has been made available, except in the cases listed in section 3.

2. Article Processing Charges (APC) and journal fees

  • A manuscript that is rejected at initial editorial screening, before peer review begins, is eligible for a full refund of any APC already paid.
  • Once peer review, editing or production has begun, APC is not refundable, including where the author withdraws the manuscript or the manuscript is rejected after review.
  • Payment of any fee does not guarantee acceptance or publication. Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit.

3. When a refund is given

  • Duplicate payment – you were charged more than once for the same order;
  • Faulty file – the file is corrupted or materially different from its description, and IJSE cannot provide a correct replacement within a reasonable time;
  • Non-delivery – payment was taken but the product or service could not be delivered;
  • Payment error – an amount was charged in error by our system.

4. Donations

Donations are voluntary and generally non-refundable. If a donation was made in error (for example, a wrong amount or duplicate payment), please contact us within 14 days and we will review the request.

5. How to request a refund

  1. Contact the IJSE Editorial Office via the Contact page or WhatsApp at +60 17-405 5714 within 14 days of the payment date.
  2. Quote your order or invoice number, the amount paid, the payment method and the reason for the request, with any supporting evidence (for example, the payment receipt).
  3. We will review the request and reply with a decision, normally within 7 working days.

6. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are made to the original payment method – through CHIP for FPX, e-wallet and local card payments, or through Stripe for international card payments. Refunds are made in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR); any currency-conversion differences or charges imposed by the customer’s bank are not covered. The time for the refund to appear depends on the payment provider and bank, typically 5–14 working days. When a refund is issued, the licence to use the related digital product ends and downloaded copies must be deleted.
