Terms and Conditions of Sale

These Terms and Conditions of Sale (“Terms”) govern all purchases made through the online store of the International Journal of Sustainability and ESG (IJSE), published by Persatuan Inkubator Usahawan (PIU) / Entrepreneur Incubator Association (EIA), Registration No. PPM-012-14-11092024 (“IJSE”, “PIU”, “we” or “us”). By placing an order, you (“the Customer”) agree to these Terms.

1. Products and services

The IJSE store offers digital products and services, including journal issues, research papers and research reports, and journal-related services such as Article Processing Charges. Product descriptions, page counts, formats and target users are stated on each product page. Images are for illustration only.

2. Prices

All prices are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) unless otherwise indicated. The price payable is the price shown at checkout when the order is placed. Prices are set by PIU/IJSE and cannot be altered by the Customer. We may change prices at any time, but changes do not affect orders already confirmed.

3. Payment

Payments are processed securely through our authorised payment providers:

  • CHIP – FPX online banking, DuitNow QR, e-wallets and local debit/credit cards (Malaysia).
  • Stripe – international debit/credit cards.

IJSE does not collect or store online-banking passwords, PINs, TACs, OTPs or full card details; these are handled directly by the payment provider. An order is confirmed only after the payment provider reports a successful payment, or, for any manually arranged payment, after PIU has verified receipt of the full amount. For international bank transfers, all bank charges are borne by the Customer.

4. Delivery of digital products

Digital products are delivered electronically. Once payment is confirmed, a secure download link is shown on the order confirmation page, sent to the email address provided at checkout, and made available under My Account → Downloads for registered customers. No physical item is shipped. The Customer is responsible for providing a correct email address and for keeping a copy of downloaded files.

For high-value research reports, IJSE may require institutional or corporate verification before releasing the report. Access is activated only after successful payment and fulfilment of any applicable purchase or licensing conditions.

5. Licence and permitted use

Unless a separate written licence is agreed with PIU, each purchase grants the Customer a non-exclusive, non-transferable, single-user licence to download, read and use the purchased material for personal, academic, research or internal business purposes. Copyright and all other intellectual property rights remain with PIU/IJSE or the respective authors. The purchase does not transfer ownership of the material.

The Customer must not, without prior written permission from PIU:

  • resell, redistribute, sublicense, share or publicly post the material or download links;
  • reproduce the material in whole or substantial part, except for fair-use quotation with proper citation;
  • remove copyright notices, author attributions or other identifying marks.

Institutions and organisations requiring multi-user, institutional or corporate licences should contact IJSE before purchase. Open-access articles published by IJSE remain available under the journal’s Open Access Policy; these Terms apply only to items sold through the store.

6. Cancellations and refunds

Because digital products are delivered immediately and cannot be returned, all sales of digital products are final once the download link has been made available, except where:

  • the Customer was charged more than once for the same order (duplicate payment);
  • the file is corrupted or materially different from its description, and IJSE is unable to provide a correct replacement within a reasonable time; or
  • payment was taken but the product or service could not be delivered.

Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the order date, quoting the order number. Approved refunds are made to the original payment method; processing times depend on the payment provider and bank. Article Processing Charges are governed by the journal’s fee policy and are not refundable once editorial or production work has begun, unless stated otherwise in that policy.

7. Editorial independence

Purchases, fees and donations do not influence editorial decisions, peer review, manuscript acceptance, publication priority or indexing decisions. Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit and compliance with IJSE’s editorial policies.

8. Personal data

Personal information provided at checkout is used only to process the order, deliver the product, issue receipts and communicate with the Customer about the purchase, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia). Payment data is processed by CHIP or Stripe under their own privacy and security terms.

9. Limitation of liability

Research papers and reports are provided for information and research purposes. They do not constitute investment, financial, legal or professional advice, and the Customer remains responsible for any decision made in reliance on them. To the extent permitted by law, the total liability of PIU/IJSE for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount paid for that order.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of the order applies to that order.

12. Contact

For questions about an order, licensing, institutional purchases or refunds, please contact the IJSE Editorial Office via the Contact page or WhatsApp at +60 17-405 5714, quoting your order number.
