The International Journal of Sustainability and ESG (IJSE) is an open-access journal. This policy explains who holds copyright in published work, how articles may be reused, and how copyright applies to materials sold through the IJSE store.
1. Copyright of published articles
Authors retain copyright in articles published in IJSE. On acceptance, authors grant Persatuan Inkubator Usahawan (PIU), as publisher of IJSE, a non-exclusive licence to publish the article in electronic and print formats, to identify itself as the original publisher, and to distribute the article and its metadata to indexing, abstracting and archiving services.
2. Licence for readers
Unless otherwise stated on the article, published articles are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0). Anyone may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to and reuse the article for any lawful purpose, provided that the original work is properly cited, including:
- the authors’ names and the article title;
- the journal name, volume, issue, year and pages;
- the DOI or permanent article URL; and
- an indication of any changes made.
3. Author responsibilities
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the work is original, that they have the right to grant the licence above, and that they have obtained written permission to reproduce any third-party material (such as figures, tables or images) included in the manuscript. Third-party material may carry its own licence terms, which must be stated in the article.
4. Self-archiving
Authors may deposit the submitted, accepted or published version of their article in institutional repositories, subject repositories or personal websites at any time, with a citation and link to the published version in IJSE.
5. Journal content and branding
The IJSE name, logo, website design, compiled journal issues (layout and typesetting), and official governance and policy documents are owned by PIU. They may not be reproduced for commercial purposes, or used in a way that suggests endorsement by IJSE, without prior written permission.
6. Research papers and reports sold in the IJSE store
Research papers and market research reports sold through the IJSE store are not open-access articles and are not covered by the CC BY licence. Copyright remains with PIU/IJSE or the respective authors. Purchasers receive only the limited licence described in the Terms and Conditions of Sale (single-user, non-transferable, unless an institutional licence is agreed in writing). Redistribution, resale, sublicensing or public posting is prohibited.
7. Reporting infringement
If you believe material published by IJSE infringes your copyright, or you have found unauthorised copies of IJSE materials, please contact the IJSE Editorial Office via the Contact page or WhatsApp at +60 17-405 5714, with details of the material concerned. Confirmed infringements are handled under our Publication Ethics procedures, which may include correction or retraction.
